Sedation Dentistry in Dothan, AL

Sedation dentistry is the use of medication to help patients relax and feel comfortable during oral surgical procedures, making treatment more manageable for those with dental anxiety, sensitivity, or complex surgical needs. At Southeastern Oral Surgery and Dental Implants, we offer both IV sedation and general anesthesia to ensure a safe, controlled, and less stressful experience. These methods allow patients to remain calm or lightly asleep while still responsive or completely unconscious, depending on the level of sedation chosen. Sedation dentistry is an effective solution for creating a more positive and relaxed surgical experience. To learn more, contact Southeastern Oral Surgery.

IV sedation and general anesthesia are advanced methods used to keep patients comfortable and less anxious during oral surgery or advanced dental procedures. IV sedation involves administering medication through a vein, allowing the patient to remain deeply relaxed and minimally aware, while still able to respond if needed. General anesthesia induces a controlled state of unconsciousness for more complex procedures. To administer general anesthesia in an office setting, an oral surgeon must have completed at least three months of hospital-based anesthesia training to ensure the highest standards of care. When it comes to anesthesia, our first priority is always the patient's comfort and safety, and our team closely monitors vital signs throughout the procedure to maintain a controlled and secure environment.

Dr.Bess at Southeastern Oral Surgery & Dental Implants of Dothan has once again been absolutely amazing! He did me and my brother’s wisdom teeth removal as teens (brother had rare condition, Hyperdontia, so many wisdom teeth had to go) and he once again worked on me yesterday for a removal. Hands down, the ONLY practice and their BEST oral surgeon in Dothan! No trouble with getting anesthesia or PROPER post-op medication for basic things. Even accepts most dental insurances! Only ever recommend this place and this Dr.

I had a wisdom tooth pulled under sedation. The procedure went very well and I am in minimal pain one day post-surgery and I have not used anything stronger than Naproxen. In recovery I asked for a little more time but was rushed out a little quick. They probably had other patients that needed to be moved from surgery to recovery. They walked with me to my ride.

Insurance staff very helpful in making sure insurance was filed for maximum benefits. Very good experience with surgical procedure/ recovery. Dr. Falconer and his assistants were professional, patient and kind. The anesthesiologist was excellent, listened to my concerns, and very understanding. She explained the iv sedation used which was reassuring.Received a call from dr. Falconers office the day after procedure to check on my progress. Without hesitation, I would recommend Dr. Falconer and his team.

Awesome people Dr falconer is the best. Miss Cindy is beyond caring, compassionate and trustworthy. Everyone I met is great I suffered from bad teeth from years of sickness and antibiotics and basically they saved my life yesterday. Seriously I'm very sick I see a ton of doctors and kinda live in the hospital. I know if a place is good or not. And take my word they will take care of you in the best way possible. They listened to my concerns my heart is weak so we didn't do general anesthesia just enough to knock me out. 10 stars all day long. Also watch antibiotics a life of constant antibiotics oral or iv will destroy your health so be careful. Respectfully Johnathan berry.
